Our home of soil and sky

As temporary stewards, we cherish and preserve this special place to the best of our ability.  Our viticulture and winemaking are guided by love and respect for our land and the great Napa Valley.

Soil

Our land borders stellar Pritchard Hill vineyard on one side, and oak chaparral nature reserve on the other. Ancient eruptions littered our slopes with giant volcanic boulders of all hues from black to orange and red, while sedimentary formations jut up from below at Nature's whim.  Multiple soil types mingle here, mostly stony and shallow, challenging our vines to do their best work.  A rich diversity of wildlife thrive in this pristine semi-wilderness.

Sky

Our vineyards incline steeply in multiple cardinal directions at 800 feet above the valley floor.  Mornings are a mix of moist fog and warm sunshine, with afternoon sun nurturing our vines from every angle.  Evenings bring cool downslope breezes, which sharpen flavors and refresh the vines.  Our night skies are a celestial wonderland which we honor on our label with the constellation Bootes, venerated by northern hemisphere farmers from ancient times as it guided them during harvest season.
